Our Homes Are Our Sanctuaries

The events of last week make it crystal clear that part of what makes home "home," is the feeling of safety and security we get when we step across the threshold.

After all, our homes are our sanctuaries. It's the place we raise our children, sink roots into the community, and live our lives.

Violent incidents on national or local levels can take away a little piece of that security. And as a result, we feel vulnerable, and perhaps a little lost.

But we can't let anyone interfere with the way we live in our homes and our community. The ability for so many people to own homes is unique to this country. In most of the world, homeownership is limited to the elite and the educated.

So homeownership is worth fighting for. It's your piece of your street, your community, your city, state and country. Never let go. (And, always pay your mortgage on time.)
