The Upkeep of Home

The vast majority of us live in homes that need everything from simple paint touch-ups to new furniture, to major renovation projects to outdoor landscaping. Are homes ever finished? Even the beautiful homes featured in magazines like Architectural Digestand Metropolitan Home need regular maintenance to keep them in picture-perfect condition.

Should you be depressed that your home needs work? I don't think so. Like people, a home is a work in progress. There's always something to update and improve.

But if you do something before you can really afford to do it right, you may not like the result. Either you'll have spent more money to fix the flaw, live with it, or, as dramatic as it may seem, sell the home.
